Abstract
This chapter embraces the messy, chaotic, and fascinating nature of tourism entrepreneurship as related to the research process. Research evolution in the field is explored, raising inherent issues which help focus future research directions. A range of complex debates, dilemmas and entanglements are then subjected to intellectual consideration. This allows for the emergence of practical insights into the research process, aiming to develop nuanced knowledge that reaches into, and reflects, the lived reality of tourism entrepreneurship. These insights involve the intersections between researched and researcher, purposeful research that focuses on context and differences, and making full use of a methodological ‘toolbox’ which encourages plurality and diversity, employing methods that are explicit, precise, and transparent. The overarching aim of the chapter is to develop confidence and competence in navigating the research process, and inspiring others to seek out novel phenomena and relationships that advance and enrich our knowledge of tourism entrepreneurship. -- From publisher website
