Abstract

A content analysis of hotel websites was undertaken for a preliminary investigation of environmentally sustainable policies and practices of Melbourne hotels as disclosed on their websites. This study aims to ascertain the engagement of hotels with environmental sustainability and provides some insight into their commitment towards meeting the expectations of environmentally conscious stakeholders. The findings of this tentative analysis suggest that environmentally friendly business practices are gaining importance and visibility in the hotel industry.
