Abstract

The rapid transition to online delivery in response to the COVID-19 pandemic has provided an opportunity for scholarly investigation into improving teaching practice as greater online delivery is likely to remain as the 'next normal' post pandemic. This has coincided with the introduction of a new approach to scholarship at William Angliss Institute. This working paper outlines the conceptual framework that underpins the approach, accommodating TEQSA's Guidance Note: Scholarship but going further to define the linkages between the related concepts of scholarship, research, professional development and quality improvement. Standards and measures for scholarship are outlined but as the scheme is in its first year of implementation, no data is yet available to evaluate its effectiveness.
