This chapter aims to generate a discussion relating to a selection of visual methodologies. The specific focus is on three innovative imagery methods; visitor-employed photography, photovoice and photo-elicitation interviews. A cross-section of relevant literature on how visual methodologies have been applied in an education or tourism setting previously is documented and reviewed. This discussion assists with the adoption of these applications to the evaluation of short study tour abroad. The chapter highlights the benefits of utilising photographic imagery as a research or pedagogical instrument to guide effective inductive and reflective inquiry in tourism, hospitality, food and events education. In addition, ethical issues and protocols associated with these visual methods are considered. Visual photographic images have become a central part of human interaction and communication in the twenty-first century, however there is limited discussion of these methods being effectively adopted and adapted to students undertaking a short study tour abroad experience.en_US
