The paper details the specification of a model of the tourism and hospitality (T&H) destination community. Difficulties associated with provision of a ‘one size fits all’ model are outlined and, instead, a framework in which researchers may specify a model appropriate to a particular study’s research aims is utilised. Rigor, precision and clarity are realised through the application of a conceptual modelling technique commonly used in information systems research and practice: specifically, the abstracted entity-relationship (ER) approach.en_US
