This paper examines the Australian hotel industry's future Environmentally Sustainable Practices (ESPs). This study seeks to identify the areas of emphasis from the perspective of hotel managers. This study included a variety of hotels with varying profiles and management structures. The research involved individual interviews with hotel managers. The sample and sample size were designed to ensure that different segments of the hotel industry, including international chain-affiliated hotels, Australian chain-affiliated hotels, and independent hotels, were represented. The key elements of ESPs in the future appear to be relatively simple to implement in the daily operations of these hotels without significant capital investment, according to an analysis of the findings. It was also discovered that owners and shareholders exert the most influence over these practices, as their investments carry the most weight. The stakeholder theory broadly informs this study. Owners and shareholders significantly impact the Australian hotel industry's environmentally sustainable initiatives. According to the hotel managers' statements in this study, implementing ESPs in the hotel industry is complex due to the many stakeholders with competing agendas and objectives.en_US
