Wine tourism in South Africa: A snapshot of human resource practices of cellar door management
Abstract
This paper provides a discussion of a supportive study, which is a component of a broader research project conducted in the Western Cape Province located in South Africa. This study investigated a selection of human resource (HR) practices from the perspective of cellar door management. A qualitative research method was employed, six in-depth interviews were utilised to collect the data. The study findings contribute to an understanding of the challenges associated with managing frontline staff and will assist in the development of a profile of HR skills utilised in wine tourism sector within South Africa.
