dc.description.abstractThe use of podcasts as a tool to help students learn and apply new ideas and concepts is now an established part of programs within higher education. While most research on the use of podcasts focuses on the benefits that students derive from consuming content, there is a growing body of literature that explores the educational impact of students as producers of podcast content. This working paper reports on a research project that is currently being undertaken within a higher education setting to explore the pedagogical benefits and challenges of using student generated podcasts. Preliminary results suggest the development of meta skills such as creativity, planning, preparation, and self-confidence are potential benefits. Challenges are the time and planning involved in developing a podcast and learning new technology.en_US
